(FREE DOWNLOAD) New Retention & Recruiting Tips!
How to deal with Year #3 of the Pandemic!
There it is, I've said it…this is the elephant in the room that continues to carry over with residual impacts in 2022. With that said I remain optimistic that we are entering a new phase that experts call more of an endemic phase vs pandemic.
There are really two things we hear out there from the workforce. They are stressed out due to the pandemic and its impact on their own jobs and then layered on the ongoing worker shortage. Workers across the country in nearly every sector continue to quit their jobs at an unprecedented rate… CEOs and HR executives are saying they are under pressure like no other time before.
As a recruiter, I’m hearing it firsthand in the calls and referrals coming into our office. It appears almost universal that everyone is getting touched by turnover and staffing and retention are the primary concerns in the post covid employment market.
All of the difficulties about the Great Resignation happening across the country made us decide to re-issue and update our most popular download in 2021 for 2022.
I wanted to highlight the first Tip listed in our 22 Tips for 2022:
Review Compensation & Benefits:
Start by benchmarking your competition and local market.
Starting pay by role - (Is it competitive for your market?)
Provide flex or remote work - whenever possible.
Take a close look at benefits and review your Paid time off policy.
Don’t overlook or forget these important resources and tools.
With some digging, you can gain access to data for your business. You can use your business SIC code or NAICS code.
SHRM
Bureau of Labor Statistics,
Trade groups
Performance groups.
Let me layer on one more important strategy that will surely help you:
Re-recruit your existing employees: Identify their motivations and seek out opportunities for them to move internally or advance to fulfill their goals. Setup a career pathing meeting just for this purpose.
Here is what you can discover in these meetings and conversations. You are bound to uncover hidden rocks, roadblocks, and opportunities that once identified can help you retain your best employees.
We hope you enjoy our tips and we wish you great success in 2022!
